Connect GSC once per account on the Features tab under Settings (settings/features): click Connect Google Account, complete OAuth for the Google account that owns your verified property, then pick the exact property (domain or URL-prefix) from the Search Console property dropdown and click Test connection. If a property shows “(no data access)”, reconnect with the account that actually owns it. GSC feeds keyword decisions and the monthly performance review (see Part 1 §1.10 Attribution).

Steps

  1. Go to the Features tab under Settings (settings/features) and find the Google Search Console card.
  2. Click Connect Google Account and complete the Google OAuth consent for the Google account that owns your property.
  3. Under Search Console property, pick the verified property from the dropdown. URL-prefix properties work here too, alongside domain (sc-domain:) properties.
  4. If the property isn’t listed, use Enter manually (https://example.com/ or sc-domain:example.com) and Save property.
  5. Click Test connection to confirm data is flowing.
  6. Optionally leave Auto-check on publish on so newly published URLs are queued for an index check automatically.
A property shown as “(no data access)” means that Google account can’t query it, so reconnect with the account that actually owns the property. If you skip the picker, the app derives a default property from the organization URL, but picking the exact verified property is safer.
🎬 Video planned: start the GSC connect, complete OAuth, select the property (incl. URL-prefix), confirm data flowing. See the shot-list.
