# How to handle an inbound link-exchange proposal

> Evaluate and respond to an inbound link-exchange / link-insertion offer.

Handle an inbound link-exchange offer by assessing the offering site's authority and relevance first — Pi can pull domain authority with the `link-building` skill to tell a real, relevant site from a low-value link farm. Then decide: take it, counter with a specific page and anchor, or decline. Respond with a concrete proposal naming which of your pages should receive the link and what you'll give in return. Ask Pi to assess the domain, pick the best target page and anchor, and draft the reply for you to send.

## Steps

1. Assess the offering site's authority and relevance. Check whether it's a real, relevant site or
   a low-value link farm; Pi can pull domain authority and gauge the fit.
2. Decide: take it, counter with a specific page and anchor, or decline.
3. Respond with a concrete proposal, naming which of your pages should receive the link and what
   you'll give in return.

## Ask Pi

The `link-building` skill handles inbound offers end to end:

```text theme={null}
we got an inbound link-exchange offer from [site]. assess their authority and
relevance, and if it's worth it, draft a reply proposing they link to [our page]
with [anchor] in return for [what we offer].
```

Pi assesses the domain, picks the best target page/anchor, and drafts the reply for you to send.
